TANESCO PROVIDES CLEAN ELECTRIC COOKING EDUCATION AND DONATES STOVE TO MALAIKA PRIMARY SCHOOL

The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) Kigamboni Region has provided education on the use of clean electric cooking energy to parents and teachers at Malaika Primary School, as part of government efforts to promote clean cooking solutions. The awareness campaign was conducted on January 13, 2026, during the school's official reopening day popularly known as Back to School, which brought together parents, teachers, and school management. Speaking during the event, Ms. Tumaini Mahwaya, TANESCO Kigamboni Regional Public Relations and Customer Service Officer, said the initiative aimed to equip parents and teachers with knowledge on the benefits of using electricity for cooking, citing safety, affordability, and environmental protection as key advantages. UGANDA ELECTION COMMISSION CONTINUES RECEIVING RESULTS AS MUSEVENI TAKES EARLY LEAD

  By Gladness Kowero. 📍 KAMPALA, Uganda Uganda's Electoral Commission continues to receive results from various polling stations following Thursday's general election, with preliminary figures indicating that incumbent President Yoweri Museveni is leading. According to early results announced so far, Museveni has secured 76.25 percent of the votes counted, based on tallies from nearly half of the polling stations nationwide. Opposition candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, is currently in second place with 19.85 percent, while the remaining votes are shared among six other candidates.
